“Engage in genre analysis and multimodal composing to explore effective writing across disciplinary contexts and beyond”

With each new topic of mediums and genres, we did a comprehensive genre analysis of many samples. We judged its content, its strength relating to the genre it tackled, and its use of other rhetorical situations. We were able to take these samples and analyze them to further improve our own writing. Criticizing and acknowledging these samples enable us to understand the writing conventions that follow that specific genre, which will help us in our own writing ventures in the future.

Figure 1 depicts me forming a genre analysis on several samples of memos. In this, I picked apart what this memo was composed of and was able to see how memos are supposed to look. This was my first genre analysis in this course, so I was able to understand how memos work, but in general how other genre conventions work with other analyses.
